The Fish Hoek 1st X1 romped to a good win against Milnerton in their one day match at Silverglade on Saturday.
On a strip made for batting, Milnerton only managed 156 due to some good tight bowling from the home side. Marc De Beer was the chief wicket taker, getting 3/32 with Ryan Bekker (2/29) and Nick Hearne (2/39) doing the rest.
The town side then finished the match off in fine style. Wayne Holman, scoring his second successive half century, getting 52 off 69 balls and batting superbly, Derek Pedersen (25) and a whirlwind 43 off 36 balls from the prolific Chris Lyons, giving Fish Hoek victory by 7 wickets.
The 2nd X1 fought back well after being dismissed for 136 against Ottomans. Andy Williams 34 no. and Dennis Bowditch 34. The opposition were bowled out for 148 after being 102/2. Off spinner Matt Lever took 5/13 and Steve Brandt 4/21 to even matters.
Hansie Linde got his second successive half century (56) and Brian Norbury again in the runs for the 3rd X1 (vs Montrose). Scores: FHCC 161/9, Montrose 140 all out.
Craig Miller was again the star for the 4th?s. Following his 57 runs last week (his 5th half century as well as a hundred this season) he took 5/13 to show his all-round capabilities.
On Sunday, the FHCC Chairmans X1 lost narrowly to the touring West Court Wanderers from the UK. Chris Lyons, again the chief run getter with 61 no. only to see his side lose by 2 runs in an interesting finish.
