Somerset West's South African Police Services Inspector, Sebastian Williams, was recently selected to play for the SAPS WP Golf Team in a tournament in Malaysia during April.
The group of players attending the tournament consists of very high officials directed by the Chairman of the SAPS (WP) Golf Team, Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Ganief Daniels. A golf day has been planned for January 27 at the Somerset West Golf Club to help raise funds for Inspector Williams, as it is each team member's responsibility to cover their own expenses for the trip.
Inspector Sebastian Williams will therefore have to raise R15 000 to cover expenses for his trip - excluding pocket money.
The Acting Station Commissioner of the Somerset West SAPS, Superintendent Bazel Medlar, said he fully supports Inspector Williams playing in the tournament and added that the Somerset West Police Station was very proud of him.
Superintendent Medlar said they would like to thank all the businesses who have to date helped with sponsorships for Inspector Williams.
A request has been made to businesses who would like to contribute towards helping Inspector Williams with finance for the trip, to phone him on (021) 850-1305 or Constable Suzan Jantjies (Communication Officer) on (021) 850-1348.
Any financial contribution to assist the member to reach his target of R15 000 can be made at FNB Bank - Somerset West with account number 77168627448.
