THE Boland Women's Senior cricket team continued their unbeaten run this season with a six wicket win over Free State this Saturday. During the preliminary round, Boland played six games, winning six and finishing top of the Coastal Pool, thereby ensuring a spot in the coveted Super 6 stage of the National Provincial League. In the first match of the Super 6 stage, Boland beat their hosts Border by 103 runs. On Saturday, Boland played hosts to Free State at the Eastern Cricket Club in Kraaifontein. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat.

She was ably supported by Nathanael Christiaans with (2/7) who played in her 100th game for Boland, Alecia Smith (2/13) and Ashlyn Kilowan (2/23). The Boland innings got of to a solid start with Yolandi van der Westhuizen scoring 51 before being bowled with only 2 runs needed to win.

Boland finished on 113/4 after 31.4 overs, winning by 6 wickets and maximum points from the game.

The next game is Saturday, February 2, when Boland travel to Durban to face KwaZulu Natal.
