The draw has been made and all the systems are in place for the Helderberg Sevens Rugby Tournament, sponsored by DistrictMail and Optimum Sport, which takes place on Friday and Saturday, February 16 and 17.
Twenty-five scintillating sevens rugby matches will be played at the Morkel Stadium in the Strand between Friday evening and Saturday 14:00 and spectators are assured of a thrilling display of open, fast running sevens rugby.
At the draw held at the Charles Morkel Stadium on Monday night, All Saints and Sir Lowrians clubs unfortunately withdrew from the competition due to other commitments, but the representatives from the other eight clubs taking part in the competition said they were excited about competing in the tournament.
The clubs were firstly divided into two pools after which another draw was made to determine who was to play who and at what times. All 25 matches will be played on the Helder-berg Club's A field.
Entry fees for spectators is R10 per car and R5 per adult. There will also be a full bar and snacks available.
Teams in Pool A are: St. Georges A, Macassar, Strand, Whistling Wheels and Helderberg B and teams in Pool B are: Helderberg A, Raithby, Universals, Strand United, Strand Pioneers and St. Georges B.

After Helderberg Rugby Club's Seven's A team won the Wesbank RFC's Sevens Tournament at Malmesbury last week, they must be the favourites to win their Sevens Tournament at the Morkel Stadium this weekend.
After stumbling to a 5-7 loss against Hopefield in their first match, they regrouped to win their next match against Piketberg 40-7.
Abotsdale gave them a good run for their money before the Helderberg won 21-19.
In the quarter finals the beat hosts Wesbank Malmesbury 31-12. Then against Belhar they drew 14 all, then in extra time sparked again to win 36-14. Helderberg then beat old rivals Tygerberg A in the finals 49-14.
Helderberg's young Christopher (Kittie) Josephs was also adjudged as the player of the tournament at the prize giving - he scored 12 tries in the tournament.
