Strand Nippers competed at WP Champs at Big Bay Blouberg last weekend and again excelled.
The u/10's did very well, in particular Frances Carstens who won medals in the following events: gold in flags, body board, surf swim, knee board; silver in beach sprints and bronze in long run, and run/swim/run. Other u/10 girls that did well were: Bailey Kelly - silver flags, 8th body board; Alex Williams - bronze flags, 5th long run; Chloe Townsend - 6th in long run, body board and surf swim; Megan Kreft 4th knee board, run/swim/run and Cindy Dorrington 9th in long run and body board. Niels Dijkstra won a silver in the long run, Rijk Diepeveen a bronze in the surf swim and knee board and 4th in the run/swim/run.
Adin Masencamp was 4th in the long run and 9th in the surf swim and run/swim/run and 8th in the knee board whle Franco Carstens was 8th in the run/swim/run.
The Taplin and Body Board teams won sliver medals.
The u/12's also did well with all six members getting top 10 places.
Hailey Walker-bronze in knee board , 5th in the long run; Alegra Dijkstra - 4th in long run, 7th in body board, 8th in flags and knee Board, 9th in surf swim and 7th in the the Diamond Lady (a 75m run, 400 m swim, 75 m run, 400 m body board, 75 m run, 400 m knee board ending in a 75 m run.
The boys that took part in the same event called Iron Nipper were: Jess Townsend 5th, Steffen Burrows 6th.
Rebecca Carter-Smith - 4th surf swim, Steffen Burrows 5th body board, 8th flags and 9th long run. Morgan Kelly won bronze in the long run and Jess Townsend 4th in surf swim, 5th in knee board. The body board team were 3rd.
The u/14's that excelled were: Louis Maas-gold in long run, bronze in beach sprints and 8th in flags, Birgitt Ouweneel - bronze in long run, 7th in the knee board and Deon Taljaard - 6th in knee board event.
