On Thursday the last 16 players will be in action and on the Friday the quarter finals will be played at the Somerset West Club at Radloff Park.
Susan Crole of Duo Barossa Media, who is covering the event said that among the highlights was on Monday when there was a gathering round Court 4 for the final match of the day when father Vernon Tomes played his son Grahame Tomes.
Even more interesting is that Grahame and Vernon are both members of the Somerset West Croquet Club.
According to Susan, Vernon played his best tactical game and was moving the balls with great accuracy and he came out the winner in the match against his son.
S
usan said that Vernon, who taught Grahame to play the game, is a much-loved and admired croquet player who has devoted many hours to coaching and was well supported by the large crowd who had gathered to watch this enthraling match.
