Mac Utd notch up a record score
    08-05-2008

Macassar United racked up a record score in their Super League match in the Mitchell?s Plain LFA on Saturday when they beat Arsenal 19-0 in what can only be described as "Kuikenmoord".

Arsenal were simply inept and the Macassar team scored almost at will with four players scoring hat tricks with striker Llewellyn Alexander scoring five goals. Allister Pick and Roger Jordaan scored three and four goals respectively and substitute striker Jason Dampies also helped himself to a four-goal haul in the second half. Other scorers were Granville Bosman (2).

Arsenal also conceded an own goal.

Credit must be given to Mac-assar for continuing to pile up the pressure and keep playing right and to new coach Johan van Wyk (previously of Eersteriver FC and Milano FC).

With a number of new players registered and some older stalwarts returning the quality and depth available to him has improved significantly which should lead to both the first and second teams challenging seriously for league honours.

The First Team especially have been drawn in a very difficult group with the likes of Dalmans Midas, Strandfontein, Leeds Lentegeur and Westridge and tougher games are sure to follow.

The Second Team beat North-wood Rangers 5-1 at Strand-fontein. Goals were scored by Calvyn Magerman, Taswill Martin, Craig Grandlingh and Bradley Matthys (2).
