We are really getting fed-up with the state of our beaches due to the street vendors in Beach Road. We receive several complaints daily regarding the constant noise ranging from 07:00 until as late as 22:00 at night, as well as the state of the parking area at our slipway and jetty.
Not only can we not walk along that part of the pavement, but the view and state of the vendor stalls is unacceptable. It seems as though no control is being instated and feel that urgent attention is needed to come to a solution. It is the start of the festive season and I would like to know what is going to happen then if this is what we get through the year. Do these vendors pay and register to sell their products there? If so, what is this money being used for?
A suggestion would be to implement some kind of norm regarding the appearance of the stalls, as well as a time limit in which these stalls may do business. We have lodged previous complaints and nothing happens. We would appreciate a reply as soon as possible in this regard as we would like to know if something is going to be done to resolve this matter.
