    'You need counselling'
    010208

Margaret Barnard from Somerset West writes: One recent Thursday morning at 08:15, I parked in the mother's parking space in front of Checkers to quickly return a DVD through the slot provided.

The fact is that it was the closest to the drop off point available - I was running late and there was an abundance of parking at that time of the morning, so I took the chance. How wrong I was.

I had left my keys in the car, handbag and cellphone on the passenger seat with the window open. This meant nothing to the woman (unfortunately I cannot call her a lady) in the white double cab that arrived in the few seconds it took me to return the DVD.

She started hooting, ranting, raving and shouting at me and proceeded to park behind me so that I could not leave. (I admitted that I was not allowed to park there).

She then proceeded to start taking photos of my number plate, car and the sign that it was a parking place for mothers only.

I very calmly sat in the car, just shook my head and watched while she was taking the photos and calling someone on the cellphone.

After some time she got out of her car, came to my window and said I was lazy to walk, was one of those people that disobeyed the law and was not going to move until I apologise to her.

As I was trying to explain (once again) she said she only started work at 10:30 and was not going to let me leave.

All I want to say is, people like you absolutely amaze me.

Hopefully you received the attention that you were looking for and I really think you need rage counselling, as well as how to behave like a lady! This is what you would call road rage turned into parking rage.
