Gospel diva hits Evaton
By Lazarus Dithagiso

EVATON. - Spring is here and what better way to start it than with talented gospel diva Kholeka, who will perform at the Mr and Miss Anti-Crime Pageant, which will take place at the 12th Apostolic Church on Saturday. The event is free and starts at 10:00.

The event is organised by captain William Mcera, the SAPS Provincial Co-ordinator of the Youth Desk, who says that the prevalence of crime in schools remains a national crisis. It is for this reason that the pageant is being held and Kholeka is added to it in order to include a spiritual element to the pageant.

She will perform songs from her latest album, "Ngiya dumisa", including the tracks "Golgotha" and "Aphelile a mathemba". Her impressive musical background spans over ten years and includes the albums "Masizilungiselele" and "Unmkhulu Jehova".

Speaking about her performance on Saturday, Kholeka told Vaal Weekly she has been working with the police on numerous occasions and says that people are always praising the police's presence at the festivals that she performs at.

"When Captain Mcera requested me to perform for the youth, I did not hesitate for one second. This is one opportunity I've always been waiting for," she says.

She promises a spellbinding performance for her audience, come Saturday. "I love my fans and I always want to give them the best," she concludes.
