ORANGE FARM. - A young mother gatecrashed an ANC constituency meeting on Monday evening and abandoned her 2-month-old baby in the process.

It appears that the 19-year-old mother could no longer provide shelter and food for her young one, so she decided it was time she gave her child away to strangers. When she arrived at the ANC constituency office, she told the politicians present that she wants to give her baby away.

"She said the baby's father passed away and that her aunt kicked her out of her home," says Njanyana Phala, who adds that the young mother reportedly spent a few nights with her newborn child in a toilet. When the councillors, who were present at the time, asked her more questions, the woman vanished and left her baby behind.

"One moment she was here and the next she was gone. Passers-by say that they saw her run out of the building with her shoes in hand," continues Phala.

More and more parents are abandoning their children. This shocking trend occurs immediately after the child's birth. This publication has written countless stories on stillborn and fully developed babies who were left to die by their parents and there seems to be no end in sight.
