Toothless Lions blow hot and cold
By Zacharia Nale

SEDIBENG. - Safa Sedibeng Castle Regional League rookies Junior Lions are yet to register a win in the regional league season.

The Lions find themselves at the wrong side of the log as they languish at the bottom with no points from three games despite being blessed with exceptionally talented players.

It is still too early to tell, but the Lions seem to be heading towards relegation at the end of the season unless they start performing. Over the weekend Young Lions suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat at the hands of Young Birds at the Dick Fourie Stadium.

Despite the axe hovering over their necks, the club's chairman Paseka "Happy" Moqholosane is adamant that his club will soon kick their relegation blues. "People should not read too much into our current situation. What is happening is normal and it is just a matter of time before we regroup. My team is young and we should not put them under pressure. The results will come very soon," says Moqholosane.

Lions have a mountain to climb when the host Conti Promoters at the Zone 7 Stadium on Sunday. Kick-off is at 13:00.

Sporting FC is also a red-hot favourite for relegation if their log standing is anything to go by. The club is currently second last with no points from four games.

Elsewhere, Sedibeng United surrendered their top of the log position to Hillside United after loosing 2-1 to Conti Promoters at the Zone 3 Stadium over the weekend. Sedibeng are now lying fourth on the log with 11 points from six games.

Meanwhile, Weekly Sport is unable to publish Safa Vodacom Promotion League results and fixtures, as we are still waiting for them.
