Learners caught 'doing it' in library
By Sonqoba Kunene

VANDERBIJLPARK. - Two high school learners were caught having sex in the Vanderbijlpark Library last Wednesday.

It is alleged that the two learners were busy performing the indecent act when they were caught by the library's security personnel. The Vanderbijlpark SAPS arrested the two learners and charged them with public indecency. The Vanderbijlpark magistrate's court has since referred the two learners to an NGO where they will attend a developmental programme. "This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and the SAPS will enforce the law accordingly without hesitation," says Vanderbijlpark SAPS Spokesperson Inspector Kinnie Steyn. The head of the Vanderbijlpark Library, Marina Van Wyk, was unavailable for comment at the time of print and Vaal Weekly left a message for her on her cell phone. Elsewhere, in Sebokeng police arrested two suspects at their respective homes for housebreaking in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The arrests came after a case of housebreaking and theft were registered at the Sebokeng police station on Monday evening.

The Mofokeng-family home in Zone 12 was allegedly broken into and items, including an entertainment system, were stolen. After an intensive investigation, which took place immediately after the crime was reported, the suspects were apprehended and the stolen goods were found in their possession. Sebokeng SAPS spokesperson, Spt Maria Mazibuko says that the suspects will make their first court appearance today (Wednesday) at the Sebokeng magistrate's court on face charges of housebreaking and theft.
