Taxi owner shot

ORANGE FARM. - In what seems to the be continuity of taxi violence, another taxi owner was shot at his home in Ext 2, Orange Farm on Tuesday.

According to Orange Farm SAPS Spokesperson, Nikiwe Hoaeane, the victim, Nkosinathi Mfuphi (38) was moving out of his home at around 9:30 when he was shot in his left arm and right leg. He was then taken to hospital.

The shooting is suspected to be related to the menacing Meyerton Taxi Rank dispute.

A suspect has been arrested and will appear before the Vereeniging magistrate's court on charges of attempted murder on Friday.

The gun and getaway vehicle apparently used were confiscated.

Police are investigating the case.
