Be tuned into God's timing
By Matshepo Mokobake

In welcoming spring, we are reminded of the established words uttered by God: "as long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."

What happens on earth is a reflection of the spiritual realm and one has to be tuned into God's unseen plans so that, what takes place in his/her life will not find them off-guard.

A timeless lesson in understanding divine timing can be learnt from an old couple, Zacharia and Elizabeth in Luke 1 and 2. One thing that is for certain is the allocation of time for everything under the sun. However, for a person who has an on-the-mark relationship with the Creator, things are revealed even before they come to pass. The problem with relating to God, based on what is seen, is that things are not always as they seem.

It is clear that Zacharia doubted the possibility of God's response, to have a son in their old age. The reality of Elizabeth's menopause carried a louder voice than the revelation of God's messenger with their long awaited answer. What has the Spirit of the Lord revealed to you that is in direct contrast to your reality?

Fortunately for this couple, the wife was in tune with divine timing, so much so that upon conception she went into seclusion for five months and when she reappeared in her sixth month she started prophesying the child's future into being. Do not let the registration according to your chronometre put you under any pressure. Keep in agreement with what the word of God says, for it is the only constant factor in our lives. The lesson continues in the next issue.
