THE choir of the University of Stellenbosch will be performing in the Endler Hall on 17 May at 20:00 to present its repertoire for the forthcoming World Choir Games.
The US Choir will compete in three categories at the Choir ?Games, which will be held in Graz, Austria in July this year.
Works such as the traditional Afrikaans Aandlied, Balzanelli's Dies Irae, Hendrik Hofmeyer's The Birth of Orc and works by Cayabyab, Svilainis, Orbán and Hyo-Won Woo will be performed.
The choir, the oldest and most celebrated choral ensemble in the country, has toured extensively and has won critical acclaim for its international performances.
One of the many highlights in its history was winning the category for Youth Choirs at the World Choir Games in Bremen, Germany in July 2004.
The Choir is conducted by André van der Merwe.
