    Elvis doing it at GrandWest
    HARRIET BOX

HE is the undisputed king of rock and roll and currently Elvis Presley is keeping the crowds entertained at GrandWest.

It takes a lot of hip swaying on Elvis’ part not to be outshone by his two sometimes scantily clad female dancers. Let’s rather say James Marais, who stars as Elvis Presley in the show The Elvis Story, has to do a lot of hip swaying to keep the focus on himself.... But not to worry, he pulls it off in style and even looks a bit like the undisputed king of rock and roll.

The Elvis Story spans Elvis’ career from the early years to his first television appearances. Fans can expect to see some Elvis moves and to hear 33 old Elvis classics, including songs such as “Jailhouse Rock”, “Blue Suede Shoes” and “Suspicious Minds”.

This highly entertaining show includes music by a skilled band and some high-energy dance moves. It features a talented cast headed up by Marais and backed by a cast of 12 musicians and entertainers.

The Elvis Story can be seen at GrandWest’s Roxy Revue Bar until 1 November, Wednesdays to Saturdays. Tickets are available from Computicket at R67. Doors open at 20:00 and the show starts promply at 20:30.

. Five readers can each win a double ticket to the show on Wednesday 15 October at GrandWest. SMS the word “elvis” – followed by name and surname – to 32516. (R1 per SMS.)
