    Goals rain in soccer match
    Aaron van Schalkwyk

After all the fuss about Salim's lack of converting half chances into goals, they suddenly found their range against Young Dolphins.

Zukisani “Jazz” Keis started his first match of the season by supplying the strikers with crisp passing. By halftime, the team had a 6-0 lead. After the break, Hennas “Bricks” Jacobs took charge of the midfield and the goals were scored almost at will. On a sunny Saturday afternoon in Hawston, it was raining goals. Final score 18-0 to Salim.

Goalscorers were: Hans “Eagle” Phindani (9); Jeffrey Makatong (3); Hennas “Bricks” Jacobs (2); Siyabulela “Nosh” Mgubasi (2); Ntobeko “Major” Macibe (1) and Zukisani “Jazz” Keis (1).

The team's next game is on Sunday 27 July vs Iwisa Lovers in Mt Pleasant.

    Shining Stars 4 - White Spurs 2; XI Express 2 - Early Birds 0; United Brothers 0 - Young chiefs 4; Iwisa Lovers 6 - Langezandt Hotspurs 3; Real Attackers 4 - Mountain United 0; Mountain Birds 2 - Home Destroyers 3; Marine United 2 - XI Gladiators 2.
