FISH HOEK'S Ashleigh Freeman will be flying Western Province's flag high when she competes in the Action Cricket Inter-Provincial Tournament in Durban from 5 to 11 September.
Ashleigh is the youngest player to make the open ladies team and her tenacity will prove to be an asset for the Western Province Warriors team as they compete against the country's best.
This year, the Inter-Provincial Tournament moves up a notch, as the Supersport channel will cover the event.
A tour of this calibre requires a large amount of money from each player for kit, game fees, accommodation, air fares, and transport.
Ashleigh appeals to her community: "I love my sport. I'm always striving to achieve my full potential on the field, and any donations to make my dream of playing in the tournament come true, will be greatly appreciated".
South African team selectors will be watching every game and Ashleigh aims to impress them and make the South African side.
Fish Hoek has seen great men and women reach new heights in their specific fields, and Ashleigh would like to do the same.
You can show your support for her and the rest of the Western Province Warriors by sending messages of encouragement to flashwp_1@hotmail.com, or if you would like to make a donation of any kind, please phone Nicky on 782-4635 or e-mail shanickeye@telkomsa.net.
