SOUTH African pitcher Lester Fortuin has caused a stir at Thistle, after failing to pitch-up to play in the WP Major League competition for three consecutive Saturdays.
Fortuin has been a spectator at other matches since the season started on Saturday, 14 October. This has increased speculation that he is contemplating to leave Thistle for another club.
Clint Alfino, the Thistle player-coach, says: "The ball is in Fortuin's court. He says he needs time to decide on his commitment to baseball".
Alfino says according to WP rules, Fortuin is not eligible to join another club because he played for Thistle in the club's pre-season tournament.
Thistle's other SA pitcher, Gavin Jefferies, played against Bothasig last Saturday, after being absent from the squad on 21 October.
