    Roger is the missing link
    Brian Gaffney

TWO out of three former Bafana Bafana players are predicting the PSL clash between Santos and Wits University will be drawn on Friday night.

While George Dearnaley and Duncan Crowie feel that a draw is likely, Roger Links is placing his money on Santos to win.

Says Links: "Santos have a good home record. Their direct-style of play suits the compact field at Green Point. I think the aggression of midfielder Sebastian Bax and forward Eleazar Rogers can unsettle Wits, especially in the aerial tussles.

Dearnaley is tempted to bet on Santos, but opts to settle on a draw. Roger da Sa has done well with limited playing resources.

Santos have few big-name players but the team spirit is good. And that is vital when it comes to moulding a workman-like team.

Crowie predicts a low-scoring draw. "The Santos defence plays better at Green Point than in away matches," he says.

"But they do need to take advantage of half-chances. Dipsy Selolwani is a fine striker, but he has battled to score since being appointed captain. Perhaps the responsibility of leading the team is affecting his game. I will be pleased if he does score against Wits.

"Wits Brazilian recruit De Jesus is the man Santos must watch. Still, I feel it will end in a draw."
