PRIMROSE spinner Fagmie Jardine spearheaded his side to their first outright win of the season when they thumped UCT by five wickets in the Western Province 1A League series.
The left-arm spinner claimed 5/63 to help dismiss UCT for 169 in their second knock at the Rosmead sportsfield in Kenilworth on Saturday.
Jardine, who had a hand in skittling UCT for 124 in the first innings, tied down the students in a fine 27-over spell on the final day's play. Primrose, set 111 runs for victory, scored 113/5, thanks mainly to opener Ebrahim Solomons? steady 51-run knock.
At Kenwyn, a century by Victoria's Ryan Daniels was a highlight of the drawn 1A League clash between Vics (146 and 242) and Claremont (207/8 and 131/7).
Tygerberg (191/9 and 134/9) beat Montrose (226/7 declared and 98) by one wicket at Ravensmead.
