Wayne Holman just misses 3rd century
    Derek Harvey

Fish Hoek Cricket Club 1st XI ope?ning batsman, Wayne Holman, scored two consecutive centuries (and very nearly a third) and he heads a list of century makers for the club in recent weeks.

Holman is in prolific form this season. His hundreds were chanceless and he has scores of 77, 56 no, 138 no, 100 no, 39 (run out) to his name. He missed out on a third century this weekend when he was out for 87.

In the previous match, Wessel Olwagen, who is also starting to show his potential, scored 103 in a big stand with Holman and these two young men provided much entertainment and the spectacle of two centuries in one innings.

The 1st XI picked up 46 points last weekend after two fine victories against Langa and Hanover Park. This puts them in fourth spot in the league and the prospects look bright for the rest of the season.

Dennis Bowditch, not to be outdone by the youngsters, has also scored two centuries (for the 2nd XI).

He, too, is in fine form, with scores of 49 and 72 prior to that.

Ryan Bekker and Nick Hearne have produced some fine figures in a very good all round bowling attack. Bekker took 5/16 vs Hanover Park and Hearne 4/23 vs Langa.

Scores this week at the club: Ottomans 163 all out. Fish Hoek 183 for 3. The match continues this weekend.
