    Molema charges through Constantia
    Jason Acar

FLEET-FOOTED Neo Molema tore through Constantia in the early hours of Saturday morning to claim first place in the annual Hohenort road race over 15 kilometres.

Molema, from Mr Price Western Province, came in behind his team mate, Thembelani Zola, in last week's Bay to Bay, but this time out managed to triumphantly cross the finish line in 47:17.

Zola crossed the line 21 seconds later, recording a time of 47:38.

Harmony's Piet Jacobs secured the final top three spot immediately behind Zola, in 47:42.

The annual race, which is organised by the Pinelands Athletic Club, is one of the oldest of its kind in Cape Town and saw around 1 400 entries to the event this year.

The race started and finished at the Constantia Community Centre, with the course offering a scenic route which was strewn with some gruelling sections that really put the runners to the test.

Bulelwa Mtshagi (Mr Price Celtic) pushed hard to break away from the other women athletes to take first place in 56:41, with team mate Kim Laxton pushing herself over the line just behind her in 57:04.

Nomvuyesi Seti (Mr Price Western Province) finished in third place in 01:00:54. Nancy Will made the organisers proud as she took first place for Pinelands Athletic Club in the women?s master division (50 plus), finishing in 01:07:56.
