    Quiet Carl is comic genius
    Nina Harvey

Australia's number-one-selling theatre comedian, Carl Barron, is in Cape Town at the Baxter Theatre Concert Hall at 20:15 nightly from today until Sunday 20 July as part of his world tour.

Prepare for a week of side splitting comical genius as Carl takes the stage with what has been described as a "non-threatening observational style of comedy".

Carl has won over thousands of people with his gentle, self-conscious, relaxed and original approach to comedy, and Cape Town is certainly not exempt from this.

He was a huge hit last year at the 2007 Cape Town Comedy Festival where he walked on quietly and proceeded to steal the show, making the rest of the night, quite honestly, a little hard to remember.

If the audience that night didn't know who he was before, they certainly do now.

His take on everyday subjects is so apt, so true and so funny, and yet even with the audience in stitches, Carl still looks like the awkward guy who can?t understand why you are laughing.

Don't miss out on this week of laughter. Tickets cost R120 and can be booked via Computicket on 083 915 8000 or at www.computicket.co.za.
