The Kramer Petersen Songbook will be performed at the Baxter Theatre from December 7 to January 12. The show is directed by David Kramer. Taliep Petersen and David Kramer worked together for 20 years, from 1986 - 2006, creating musicals which have become Cape classics such as District Six and Kat and the Kings.
Many of their songs have become evergreens in Cape Town - songs like "Klop Klop", "My Broertjie My Bra" and "Welcome To Cape Town" are now part of the music repertoire of many of the klopse and langarm bands of this city. The singers in this production will include some voices and faces familiar to audiences from earlier Kramer Petersen musicals, as well as some new young talent. The cast includes Loukmaan Adams, Terry Fortune, Mono Dullisear, Carmen Maarman, Tarryn Lamb, Alistair Izobell and Bronwyn Reddy.
The Kramer Petersen Songbook performances take place from Mondays to Fridays at 20:00 and Saturdays at 17:00 and 20:00. Tickets range from R65 to R105 and from R115 to R155 for the performance at 21:00 on New Year's Eve. Book at Computicket on 083 915 8000.
