    Auction supports underprivileged

    The Rotary Club of Gordon's Bay is holding an auction and sale of 60 works of art from more than 40 artists, in the first week of December at Willy Woestyn's Art Factory in aid of underprivileged children in the Helderberg.

    The art work will consist of paintings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics and etchings to suit all tastes and pockets. Some of the artists whose work will be available to purchase are Pierre Volschenk, Catharina be Bliquy, Tyronne Appollis, Christiaan Koen, Alta Brink, Etienne Keis, Jeanne Hendriks, John Botham, Tanya Nockler-Golding, Marion Langton, Wallace Hulley, Di Johnson-Ackerman, Corne Peinaar, Joshua De Bliquy, Alta Brink and Mieke Henning.

    On Friday, December 7 from 19:00 the auction and sale will be held at the Willy Woestyn Art Factory 9 A 10 Nortje Street, George's Park, Strand.

    Entry is by invitation only to this premiere evening where wine and canapes will be served. The auction will be conducted by Paul Myson of Ashbey's Galleries in Cape Town.

    Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday morning is open to the public where some art will be available on silent auction and some art will have "buy now" prices. To secure your invitation or for further information, phone Ruth Brunskill on 079 184 3605.
