    Jesse Jordan rocks the reserve
    110108

THE Jesse Jordan Band will be rocking on Sunday, January 13 at the Helderberg Nature Reserve at the first of the Friends of the Helderberg Nature Reserve's Sunset Concerts for 2008 after the concert (on January 6) was postponed due to inclement weather.

Fresh from touring the country to promote their new CD, "White on the Inside", which the band leader, Jesse Jordan, describes as consisting of "older favourites that have been revamped" as well as some exciting new material, we are thrilled to bring this local group to their local audience.

Jordan explains their style as being "modern rock with a pop twist". The new album ranges from modern rock, country and soft ballads. It's written about the way people in society deal with their emotions and how it influences their relationships. Certainly no strangers to the national live music scene the band has performed at venues such as: Vacca Matta, Bertie's Mooring, Privilege, Town Square, The Nameless Pub and festivals including, amongst others, KKNK, Woodstock, Aardklop and Up the Creek. This will be their first appearance at the Helderberg Nature Reserve.

The Members of the band are Alex Power on bass, Sheree Power on guitar, Hein Shultz on lead guitar, Willim Prinsloo on drums, Andy Vatorro on drums and Jesse Jordan on vocals and acoustic.

Tickets for the concert are on sale at the Information Centre at the Reserve, or at the gate from 15:30. The concert starts at 17:30. Ticket prices are R25 for adults and R5 for scholars. Proceeds from the concert go to the Environmental Education Centre at Helderberg Nature Reserve. Bring your own picnic and blanket or chairs. More information is available on (021) 851-4060.
