The curtain will rise to Suicide King
    18/01/08

The Hottentots Holland Dramatic Society (HHDS) presents a rehearsed play-reading at the Playhouse Theatre, Lourensford Road, Somerset West on Sunday, January 20 at 15:00. The curtain will rise to Suicide King by South African author - and poker player - Marc Kay. It is a one-act play and will be shown on stage without interval. The actors have rehearsed the play under the direction of Bettina Horvath, but did not learn lines and will perform with script in hand. It is an intriguing play about the current Poker hype sweeping the world. Would you bet your life on the King of Hearts? Join them for coffee and cake at 14:00 and find out what main character Paul is going to do! Admission is R10, no reserved seating, tickets at the door. There is also an audition at the Playhouse for The premature corpse, a crime thriller written by Mike Johnson to be directed by Bettina Horvath on Sunday, January 27 at 19:30. It is a masterfully written play with four main characters and two supporting roles. Three males and four females of any age are needed as well as a backstage crew. For details, phone Bettina on 083 679 4751 or visit www.hhds.org.
