The Cape Town Concert Series' first season of 2008 will be launched on Saturday, February 2 by the lauded American pianist Spencer Myer.

The concert takes place at the Baxter Concert Hall at 20:00 and the wide ranging programme comprises Beethoven's Sonata No 24 in F sharp major, Medtner's Sonata-Reminiscenza, Four Etudes by Stravinsky, Ravel's Miroirs and Venezia e Napoli by Liszt.

Since winning the 10th UNISA/Vodacom International Piano competition in 2004, Myer has become feted as one of the most versatile pianists of his generation. Tickets are R115 from Computicket.
