FANS OF THE Sunset Concerts at the Helderberg Nature Reserve are in for a treat on Sunday, February 17 when the bill will be shared by two popular bands - The Caledonian Pipe Band as well as the SA Army Band. Neither needs much introduction to their local fans and the evening is sure to be a winner.
The Caledonian Pipe Band will play a variety of standards, but expect a few numbers you might not have heard before. This band is a regular at various functions - especially those with a Scottish flavour such as Burns Nicht at Kelvin Grove.
The local Army Band can hold their own with any international Military Band and the Friends of the Helderberg Nature Reserve are delighted that they are able to squeeze them into their hectic concert schedule.
The band plays a variety of music, ranging from Big Band to gentle vocals. Bring along your picnic, blanket and chairs and join the Friends on Sunday, February 17 at 17:30. The concert duration is one to one and a half hours.
Tickets at R25 for adults and R5 for scholars will be on sale at the gate from 15:30. Tickets are also available at the Information Centre at the Reserve.
