    Brian clearly states his case
    DistrictMail, 23-11-01

THERE's a bold yellow sign up on Brian Marshall?s fence in Lourensford Road that accuses the Helderberg Administration of not honouring its promises - see photo. Brian wants the Administration to restore his verge to its former level state after rubble and grime from roadworks undertaken by the Administration earlier this year apparently left his verge uneven and lumpy, and an enemy of his lawnmower. All he wants is for the Administration to level his verge so he can once again cut his lawn with a roller mower. He says this was promised to him after the roadworks by an official of the Administration. The Administration has filled the wheel ruts on Brian?s verge, caused by an unknown truck, it says, but caused by one of their vehicles, Brian says. It has also cut Brian?s sidewalk for him, and now believes it has met its obligations to him. "The work done on Mr Marshall's sidewalk has been completed, yet he is not satisfied," says Lisle Fischer, PRO of the Helderberg Administration. The Administration considers the issue resolved, she says. Brian insists that he was promised by the Administration that it would level his verge, and he therefore intends keeping his sign up until this work is done.
