Take high and the mighty, some rich and some clever, But there is one great man born on South Africa's soil who is at last freed from deprivation and toil.

Who was kept away from his people for 27 years, experiencing torment, anguish and fears.

But he came back to his people with a smile on his face Showing neither anger nor bitterness, only kindness and grace.

Today this great man is known to every child, to statesmen and leaders, to the meek and the mild.

He is respected and beloved by big and by small.

Madiba has all the reasons to walk proudly and tall, But he has remained humble, gentle and giving and forgiving with a generous mind.

Madiba, now that you have reached your ninth decade, we want to thank you for the way you have led this country with goodwill, wisdom and care making it a country in which we all can share.

A happy birthday Madiba and a healthy year.
