EVATON. - A freaky discovery of a severed leg, which is suspected to be a human leg, has got the whole community spellbound.

The Evaton West Extension 7 community came to a screeching halt as everyone wanted a glance of the strange leg which was found at the backyard of a house belonging to the Mdlalose family last Thursday.

The shocked community is left with countless questions and concerns about the mysterious leg as this was a very unusual occurrence for the small Evaton West community.

Maditaba Mdlalose, the owner of the house where the leg was discovered says, "I was doing my laundry when my children left for school. They came back into the house on a high speed a few minutes later, saying there is something strange in the yard."

Mdlalose says she quickly went to the backyard where she found a leg that looked like that of a human being. "There were two sticks near the leg, they were placed there across each other to make a cross." Mdlalose further says that there was something strange about this gruesome discovery. "The leg seemed like it was grilled," says Mdlalose.

She says she called the neighbours for help who were still shocked because they also thought that the leg looks human. The Police were called and as soon as they had a decent look at the leg, they took it away.

However, Police could not confirm whether the leg was human though they promised to come back to Mdlalose. "I was scared because I thought it might be witchcraft, you never know when evil deeds will strike you," concludes Mdlalose.

Evaton Police Spokesperson, Constable Nombulelo Gabuse confirmed that the leg has been removed from Mdlalose's backyard. "We have sent the leg away to forensics to determine whether it is human," says Gabuse.
