BOIPATONG. - Abram Lentsha (55) has been struggling without electricity for four months after his house burned down in March this year.
A resident of Tshirela Extension 1, Lentsha says that his house burned down under mysterious conditions and that he received a lot of help from the police and nearby neighbours. "I went to apply for a new electricity box but it seems Eskom is not willing to help me," says Lentsha, whose debacle is not new to Vaal Weekly. This publication reported earlier that a lot of Tshirela residents do not know who their electricity supplier is. Eskom's Victor Ramagaga verified that the area falls under Emfuleni Local Municipality's area of supply. "Our Delivery Controller, Zacharia Mofokeng says that Tshirela Extension 1 is supplied electricity by the Emfuleni Local Municipality," says Ramagaga. Vaal Weekly also sent an enquiry to the Emfuleni Local Municipality's Evert van Helden and we are awaiting her response. In the meantime, Lentsha is suffering because he lives all alone and without electricity. "These are tough times for an old man like myself," concludes Lentsha.
