Among the many entries that have already been received for this long distance event, is that of former motorcycle champion Danie Maritz, who is due to share a quick 2-litre Opel Kadett with Dean Fenn and the experienced Pieter van der Poel.

This will mark Danie’s debut on four wheels and it is going to be interesting to see how he fares.

In other events Dawie Joubert is down to drive his strange looking, supercharged Ariel Atom in the NA Carrera sports and GT car races.

Although Joubert was at the wheel of his Lotus Exige during last month’s meeting (which he won), he has assured the organisers it is going to be the Atom this time.

Other prominent contenders here include John Amm in a rotary powered Chevron and Louis de Jager in his Lola T212.

Several of the Indy Oil Clubman drivers seem unable to get enough and have entered the endurance race as well. They can expect a busy day.

If the weather remains fine, its going to be the BMW drivers like Nieyaaz Modack and Roshad Khan making the running.

But if it turns wet it’s likely to be even more exciting.

Then you can watch out for the Golfs of Kosie Weyers and Steve Griffin-Wintle to take advantage of the help from their front wheel drive vehicles.

Gates open at 07:30 with the first race off at 10:00. Admission is R40 for adults and R10 for scholars under 16. There is no charge for kiddies under 12.
