    Salim United vs Langezandt Hotspur
    Aaron van Schalwyk

A relatively new Salim team took on the home side in gale-force wind conditions in Struisbaai. After winning the toss, they decided to play with the wind. It proved to be the correct decision as the goals were scored almost at will. Rudolph “Drogba” Jones scored five goals and Jeffrey Makatong two for a 7-1 half time lead.

After the break against an increasing strong wind, it was always going to be difficult to score. Salim managed to keep their opponents from scoring, before they were rewarded a penalty. Goalkeeper Thsepo Phindani stepped up and calmly put it in the back of the net to secure a 8-1 victory. Elsewhere, some of the top teams dropped some points, but the surprise of the weekend was the star-studded XI Gladiator's loss to Iwisa Lovers.

    Other results: Mountain Birds 3 - Mountonian United 0; Real Attackers 2 - Shining Stars 2; Young Dolphins 1 - United Brothers 2; Iwisa Lovers 2 - XI Gladiators 0; Marine United 2 - Young chiefs 2.
