    Dogs bark happily
    Janine van der Riet

Since the Hermanus Times started Operation Brakkenjan on Thursday people's hearts opened up and dogfood and blankets came rolling in.

We received 12 big bags of pellets, 77 tins of dogfood and four blankets.

Several dogs in severe distress have been helped by the donations received so far, but there are still many unwanted hungry dogs that have to fight for their own survival.

A resident has volunteered to build doghouses/kennels for dogs out in the cold. All he needs is scrap material such as wood, and carpet off-cuts. Any donations are welcome and very much appreciated.

Donations can be dropped off at the Hermanus Times office in Aberdeen Street, from where items are distributed where they are most needed.
