    LETTERS

    High standard
In response to JCN Kotzé's “For the privileged few” (HT 16/05).

    Favourable outcome
I refer to the article on the front page of the Hermanus Times of 20 June titled “Patrol officers get angry”.

    Not an island
I learned a valuable lesson these past few weeks. I had attended a personal development course three weeks ago, and had discovered the stark fact that what I carried around in my life was the belief that “I don't need anyone”, and was able to do it all myself, and that I could be quite insular.

    Anybody know her?
I am spearheading the Herculean task of finding pupils and teachers who attended and taught respectively at the Good Hope Seminary High School in Cape Town in 1958 for our 50-year reunion.

    Against 35 m mast
Having read the letters of Izak Kenney (“Ugly tower” HT 11/7), Enviro-Africa and Wendell Meiring (captain Hermanus Golf Club) I would like to add my comments.

    Kerk besteel

    Steekhaarbrakkie
Ek is die steekhaarbrakkie van hierdie pad

My naam is Bakkies Bakbene van De Villiersstraat nr. 7

    Needs restructuring
I was mortified to read in the Overberg Venster of 11 July that the Bredasdorp Shipwreck Museum was experiencing financial difficulties.

    Be practical
Why is it that whenever someone outside the proverbial circle of chosen ones has the audacity to express their opinion about certain pertinent Hermanus issues, somebody must use the Hermanus Times to lambaste/criticise such opinion?

    Leave our baboons
For reasons that I am unable to fathom three to five of our local baboon monitors spend a good deal of time on our local golf course. No, not playing golf - they chase the baboons and their babies up the trees and then take up positions under the trees to keep them there. This is cruel and environmentally unfriendly besides being a great waste of time.
