Helsinki - Internet security experts on Wednesday found a new version of the MyDoom computer virus, dubbed the MyDoom.B, that evaded detection measures for the original virus, said Finland's F-Secure.
"The new virus has been modified so the original MyDoom anti-virus protection does not detect it," said Mikko Hyppoenen, director of F-Secure's anti-virus division.
The MyDoom.B virus is designed to attack www.microsoft.com, the main website run by Microsoft Corp, whereas the original MyDoom was programmed to attack the website of US-based software vendor SCO with the aim of overloading it.
F-Secure Corporation is a leading provider of security for companies' computer systems, including anti-virus software.
