Twitter CEO in damage control mode

2012-01-31 08:07

Dana Point - Twitter CEO Dick Costolo is seeking to calm the global outrage over the company's new country-by-country censorship policy.

Speaking at the All Things D conference on Monday he said that the outrage in part has resulted from the issue being treated with the same the kind of shorthand that has made Twitter popular.

By taking down tweets only in the country where Twitter believes they may have violated local laws, Costolo said the company is making sure the message is still available to the rest of the world.
