Hong Kong - Two 16-year-old Hong Kong schoolgirls have been arrested for running a CD piracy business from their homes, customs officials said on Tuesday.
The girls set up a website and took orders for pirated Japanese TV dramas which they sold for $US1.30 a piece, a spokesperson for the customs department said.
They took orders by e-mail, then arranged meetings with customers to hand over the pirated discs after producing them on home computers without their parents' knowledge.
The girls were arrested after a sting operation in which undercover customs officers turned up to collect pirated discs at a railway station in Tai Po, Hong Kong.
The girls have not yet been charged, the spokesperson said, but face a maximum penalty of four years' jail and fines of up to $US6 400. - Sapa-DPA
