ACDP slams decision on Chuene

Johannesburg - The African Christian Democratic Party on Friday expressed disappointment that Leonard Chuene still had his job as Athletics SA (ASA) boss.
"We are disappointed that despite the public outrage at Leonard Chuene's blatant lies ASA has decided to come to his defence.
"Rather they should have sanctioned him for his failure to protect Caster Semenya," ACDP leader Kenneth Meshoe said.
The party said it suspected that other senior ASA members could be implicated in the Semenya saga and were afraid that if they removed Chuene "they would follow suit".
Narrow selfish interests
"They did not weigh the emotional damage, embarrassment and public humiliation Caster suffered against their narrow selfish interests."
Chuene was given a unanimous vote of confidence at an ASA special general meeting in Kempton Park on Thursday.
He gave a speech defending himself for the decision he made.
Chuene admitted to lying about having any knowledge of gender tests conducted on Semenya in Pretoria two weeks before she clinched the global two-lap title with a stunning performance in Berlin.
In Berlin, questions arose about Semenya's gender.
