ANC-IFP still talking

Cape Town - Talks between the African National Congress and Inkatha Freedom Party on an "ANC-led broad-based government" continued on Friday ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of MPLs in Pietermaritzburg.
IFP national spokesperson Musa Zondi said ahead of the ceremony that both parties were in caucus and no decision had been made.
"I'll let you know as soon as I know," said Zondi, who is in Cape Town for the swearing-in of MPs at parliament.
The ANC said on Thursday it expected the settlement to be reached before the start of the swearing-in of MPLs in Pietermaritzburg.
Details of the offer had not been made public.
The IFP won 30 provincial legislature seats in KwaZulu-Natal to the ANC's 38. The IFP's alliance partner, the Democratic Alliance, has seven seats.
ANC provincial chairperson Sibusiso Ndebele has been nominated as premier elect of the province.
The IFP indicated that it would not end its "Coalition for Change" with the DA even if invited to govern the province with the ANC.
