Johannesburg - African National Congress president Thabo Mbeki will pay an election visit to Pretoria on Friday to highlight key elements of the ANC's programme to create work and fight poverty in South Africa, the ruling party said in a statement on Thursday.
Mbeki's programme begins with a visit to Mamelodi College, where he will meet with management and students.
Following a door-to-door programme in Mamelodi, Mbeki will visit the Samcor factory to meet with management and workers, underlining the importance to job creation of key growth sectors like motor vehicle and component manufacturing.
Said the ANC statement: "While Mbeki's programme will highlight some of the achievements of the past ten years, it will also draw attention to the need for all South Africans to play a part in building a people's contract to create work, fight poverty and build a better life for all."
