Johannesburg - The retail price of all grades of petrol will decline by 7c per litre from Wednesday December 6, the Department of Minerals and Energy said on Friday.

The wholesale price of diesel 0.05% sulphur will decline by 25c a litre and that of 0.005% sulphur will fall by 26c a litre on the same date.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will fall by 25c/l, while the single maximum national retail price of illuminating paraffin will decline by 33c/l.

The latest changes bring the retail price of a litre of 95 octane unleaded petrol in Gauteng to 590c/l and to 566c/l at the coast.

During the period under review - October 27 to November 30 - the average international product price of petrol increased, while that of diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased.

The rand/US dollar exchange rate strengthened compared with the previous period and averaged R7.3083 compared with R7.7001 in the previous period.
