ANC slams unruly members

Johannesburg - The African National Congress on Monday condemned the "unacceptable behaviour" of some of its members outside Durban magistrate's court, after the appearance of former deputy president Jacob Zuma on corruption charges.
Smuts Ngonyama of the ANC said: "The organisation takes strong exception to such conduct as the burning of ANC T-shirts, shouting insults about President Thabo Mbeki and shouting down ANC KwaZulu-Natal provincial chair S'bu Ndebele."
The matter followed Zuma's second appearance on Tuesday in connection with two corruption charges linked to his relationship with his convicted former financial adviser, Schabir Shaik.
After his appearance, Zuma told the crowd that he would reveal the reasons for his implication in "corruption" after his court battle.
The organisation's national working committee said the ANC would not tolerate actions which brought it into disrepute.
Ngonyama said any member involved in such activities would be disciplined.
He said: "The ANC once again calls on all its members to act responsibly and with integrity."
