Dig deep, urges Zuma's trust

Cape Town - The Friends of Jacob Zuma Trust has urged supporters to continue contributing to the fund.
Trust administrator Barnabas Xulu said on Wednesday: "As the challenges against the ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma mount, the trust needs to increase its efforts to provide financial and moral support to him during this difficult time.
"It is due to the continued contributions to the legal defence fund that the trust was able to assist with the Durban High Court application which saw Judge Noel Hurt declare the Scorpion's raids on Msholozi's properties and the premises of his lawyer, Michael Hulley, unlawful.
"In our view, this judgment is a milestone in our efforts to undo the many injustices suffered by Mr Zuma during the malicious investigation and prosecution by the national prosecuting authority.
Trust will consider rape trial
"We... urge those who have been contributing to our defence fund to continue doing so as it is only through properly funded legal challenges that we can confront the NPA's systematic abuses and unjust conduct," said Xulu.
Referring to reports that the trust would not fund Zuma's defence in his rape trial, Xulu said it had received no request for aid in this regard.
"If and when such a request is made, the board of trustees together with the trust administrator will consider it.
"The trust has only one beneficiary, Mr Jacob Zuma, and we will continue to provide whatever support he requires for as long as it is required," he said.
