Durban -Tight security will be in place for axed deputy president Jacob Zuma's appearance in Durban magistrate's court on Saturday, police said on Tuesday.
Thousands of Zuma's supporters, and Congress of SA Trade Unions and African National Congress Youth League members are expected at an all night vigil outside the court.
At the last vigil, Zuma's supporters burnt T-shirts containing the image of President Thabo Mbeki.
"Searches will be conducted at the two access points to the gathering point," the police and Durban metro police said.
"Liquor and dangerous weapons will not be allowed within the gathering point."
They said "sufficient manpower" would be deployed to ensure the public's safety.
Stanger Street and Somtseu Road, outside the court, would be closed from 4pm on Friday until 16:00 on Saturday.
Zuma is to appear on two charges of corruption.
