Oudtshoorn - "Where is Joost?"
Amid flashing cameras and Amor Vittone?s antics in front of hundreds of excited supporters at the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees the crowd was chanting the mantra unanimously.
To loud applause, celebrity lovebirds Vittone and Joost van der Westhuizen then appeared briefly on the Radio Sonder Grense stage adjacent to the CP Nel Museum.
Vittone had to reassure the crowd early on that her beloved was close by after he was spotted peering from behind a caravan and sporting a pair of shades to cover his eyes.
When it became evident the crowd wanted more than just Vittone on stage, Vittone called out: "My love, come forward."
Emerging on stage with Vittone and presenter Nickie van den Berg, Springbok star Van der Westhuizen appeared diffident but friendly.
The crowd went crazy.
Afterwards both signed autographs and posed for photographs.
Johann van Tonder a senior photographer with Die Burger, followed the couple to another show.
Van Tonder notes that Van der Westhuizen noticed photographs were being taken of him and turning to him, shouted: "Photographer!"
He reportedly threatened to smash Van Tonder's camera.
Responding to a question from the audience about the spat between singer Steve Hofmeyr and the editor of festival newspaper Krit, Vittone said she had come in for criticism by the media herself on occasion: "Joost and I have had to endure a lot of criticism, but ultimately it makes a better person of you."
